On Tuesday, Oct. 13th at 1:06am Charles W. Asher, 36, of Shepherd Road approached London Police Ofc. Michael Wilson at the KY 192 Speedway gas station and shortly thereafter was arrested.
Ofc. Wilson was dispatched to the gas station due to a 911 call. The call derived from Asher who stated he was on meth, had been awake for more than 24 hours, and that people were following him nearby who were hiding in buses.
Ofc. Wilson reported Asher had difficulty standing still and was making erratic body motions and statements. Asher also accused everyone in the gas station’s parking lot including the officer of following him, and repetitively asked to be arrested.
Ofc. Wilson arrested Asher and was he was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center. Jail staff discovered a used syringe during their search. Asher was charged with public intoxication of a controlled substance (excluding alcohol), buying or possessing drug paraphernalia, and promoting contraband of the first degree.
