LONDON KY—On Friday, Dec. 11th London Police were Dispatched to BB&T Bank located on Whitley Street in reference to a complaint of two subjects attempting to cash a stolen check.
Upon the arrival of Ofc. Jacob Bormann, he discovered that Chasta D. Roberts, 34, and Timothy B. Hampton, 26, of London were in possession of a stolen check and asked them to step out of the vehicle. Immediately, Ofc. Bormann noticed a small plastic container resting in the passenger seat. Inside the container officers found two Oxycodone pills, one Oxymorphone, and one Buprenorphine pill.
Upon searching the vehicle officers also located a plastic baggy underneath the passenger seat containing a white crystal substance believed to be methamphetamine. Inside the vehicle officers also found a backpack belonging to Roberts, leading to the discovery four used syringes and equipment used in the sale of narcotics, including a small metal box, two sets of digital scales with white drug residue, small round stickers, a Sharpie pen, and four used syringes.
Assisting Ofc. Bormann was Det. Sgt. Gary Proffitt, Sgt. Randy Medlock, and Ofc. Justin Roby.
Chasta D. Roberts was arrested and charged with first degree possession of a controlledsubstance (methamphetamine), first degree trafficking in a controlled substance of less than two grams of methamphetamine, two counts of first degree possession of a controlled substance (opiates), second degree possession of an unspecified controlled substance, and buying/possessing drug paraphernalia. Timothy B. Hampton was arrested and charged with second degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. They were both lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
