LONDON KY—On Saturday, Oct. 14, London Police were dispatched to Wal-Mart for a stolen phone that was being tracked. Through investigation, Michael A. Cluff 37, of Mascot, Tenn. was arrested.
Ofc. Greg Turner was advised that the victim of phone theft that occurred in Knoxville, Tenn. had tracked the device to London’s Wal-Mart. When Ofc. Turner arrived at Wal-Mart he discovered a male matching the description provided, walking into the parking-lot and talking on the stolen phone.
When asked about the stolen phone, he handed it to Ofc. Turner and said he found it in a parking-lot. Upon further investigation it was discovered that Cluff had an active arrest warrant in Laurel County and he was placed under arrest.
During a search two Xanax pills were found in a plastic bag.
The stolen phone was returned to the victim and Cluff was charged with third-degree possession of a controlled substance and receiving stolen property under $500. He was lodged in the Laurel Co. Detention Center.
