LONDON KY—On Saturday at 2:58 p.m. London Police received a complaint through Dispatch of subjects kicking in a door and entering a residence on W. 16th Street. Through investigation, David E. Pennington, 41, of Louisville, Ky. and Daniel L. Roberts, 67, of London were arrested.
Upon K-9 Ofc. Greg Turner’s arrival at the residence, he observed two vehicles parked, one with Roberts inside and Pennington standing in the driveway. Pennington noticed Ofc. Turner and took off running to the back of the residence.
Lt. Matthew Moore, Sgt. Travis Hurley, Ofc. Elbert Riley, and Ofc. Eric Stallard arrived on scene to assist, set up a perimeter and conducted a quick sweep of the area. Soon after, K-9 Ofc. Jacob Bormann with K-9 Jack arrived at the scene and tracked Pennington. Officers located him hiding behind a bedroom dresser inside the residence. He was then arrested by Ofc. Riley.
Pennington was charged with second-degree burglary, second-degree fleeing and evading police, and resisting arrest. In addition, he was charged with two Laurel County warrants for second-degree escape and tampering with physical evidence.
Officers received consent to search Roberts’ vehicle and a cigarette pack was discovered with methamphetamine inside. Roberts was arrested by Ofc. Turner and charged with possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.
Both were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
