LONDON KY—On 3.3.18 London Police received a complaint through Dispatch of a possibly impaired driver driving a silver Chevrolet Equinox. Through investigation, Ashley B. Lewis, 27, of Manchester, Ky. was arrested.
K-9 Ofc. Greg Turner responded to the complaint and discovered a vehicle matching the description who was swerving on the roadway. He conducted a traffic stop on Lewis and when she stepped out of the vehicle to perform a standardized field sobriety test, a piece of crystal substance was located in the driver’s seat in plain view. The substance field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Following a search of Lewis’ vehicle, a large bag of suspected methamphetamine was also discovered. Two small children were located in the back seat of the vehicle.
Altogether, 4.64 grams of methamphetamine were seized.
K-9 Ofc. Turner charged Lewis with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and Lt. Doug Thomas assisted at the scene and charged Lewis with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs, no registration plates, failure to wear a seatbelt, no registration receipt, and failure to register transfer of motor vehicle.
