LONDON KY—On Tuesday, June 28th London Police received a call from Dispatch to respond to a motor vehicle collision on KY 229. Through investigation, Lloyd W. Smith, 30, of Waterworks road was arrested.
When officers arrived on the scene, two young females age two and four were located in a vehicle with no driver. Police were notified that once the collision took place, Smith left the scene, leaving the two children behind. A bystander took care of the children until the grandmother arrived on the scene. Smith’s license was suspended.
No injuries were reported.
Within 15 minutes Smith was located and arrested at S&R Apartments. He was charged with second-degree wanton endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident – failure to render aid or assistance, and operating a vehicle with no operator’s license. He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
